There's a unique skill set you need to acquire in order to style your daughter's hair and be a master of the brush. I know you're in a rush trying to get everyone ready for the school run, but we've been through the art of preparing pack lunches on this blog, so you've freed up time to propel your dad skill set into the world of the braid.

Here are some quick and easy hair styles you can do to prettify your princess, one for every day of the week.

MAN TOOLS YOU WILL NEED:
  • A Hairbrush
  • A Hair Bobble or Two
  • Hairpins
  • Your Daughter
EXTRA TIPS:
  • Rushed as you may be, always be gentle, tugs hurt.
  • Start from the bottom and work up to ease those tugs out.
  • Always wash and brush hair after going swimming rather than later.

Buns are good if its a sports day, hair is out of the face. Give the hair a good brush through so its nice and smooth. Gather it all up on one side as if you were putting it in a ponytail. Twist and twist and twist, gather it into a round bun shape, then secure it with a bobble or hair pins.

Also known as a plait, once you've mastered the basic braid, its onwards and upwards to all the styles a braid can bring. Brush the hair through so its smooth, and gather it into a high pony tail, tie a bobble in it. Divide the pony tail into three evenly sized segments. Move the farthest away strand into the middle, move the opposite side into the middle and repeat, working your way down. Tie a bobble at the bottom.

5. The Twisted Braid Pony Tail

Phew, what a tongue-twister! Brush the hair, secure a high ponytail with a bobble. Pick out a section of hair, and put a braid in it all the way to the bottom, secure this with a bobble at the bottom. Twist the braid around the ponytail three or four times, untie the braid and secure both the ponytail and the braid with the bobble at the bottom.
